🇫🇷 Palais Royal Archaeological Crock Candle | Provence

Scent: Provence — Lavender & Driftwood

Some treasures aren't made. They're discovered.

Unearthed from the English countryside, this charming little stoneware crock is an authentic Victorian or Edwardian archaeological find, lovingly rescued from the earth after more than a century.

Our English picker spends countless hours searching for these forgotten treasures, often digging tirelessly to uncover just one. Each vessel makes its journey across the Atlantic to Wisconsin, where we give it a beautiful new chapter.

Our candle designer creates the most exquisite vintage-inspired French transfers, carefully designed to capture the faded charm of old-world French advertising. This particular crock features the French tricolor and Palais Royal lettering, reminiscent of a little treasure from a Parisian brocante.

And tucked inside?

PROVENCE — Lavender & Driftwood

Imagine the lavender fields of southern France, warmed by the afternoon sun, with a soft coastal breeze carrying the subtle, weathered notes of driftwood.

Floral, gently woodsy, and wonderfully calming. A scent that feels like open shutters, linen curtains dancing in the breeze, and a quiet afternoon somewhere in Provence.

Hand-poured right here in Wisconsin with thoughtfully selected candle ingredients, this is so much more than a candle.

It's a little piece of history, a touch of French romance, and something beautiful to treasure long after the final flicker.

Unearthed in England. Reimagined and hand-poured in Wisconsin. Collected for a lifetime.

A note on these one-of-a-kind crocks

The photograph is representative. Each reclaimed antique crock is unique, so its shape, dimensions, glaze color, surface texture, and age-related markings may vary slightly. These differences are part of its history. The French-inspired decorative transfer is newly created and applied by our candle designer; it is not an original antique marking. Please contact us before ordering if you would like details about the specific crock available.

Candle Care & Fire Safety

  • Follow all instructions on the candle’s safety label. Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each lighting and keep the wax free of matches, wick trimmings, and other debris.
  • Keep a lit candle within sight at all times. Extinguish it before leaving the room or going to sleep.
  • Keep away from children, pets, drafts, and anything that can catch fire.
  • Place upright on a stable, heat-resistant, nonflammable surface, away from edges and combustible decorations.
  • The crock becomes hot. Do not touch or move it while lit or while the wax is liquid; allow it to cool completely before handling.
  • Do not burn longer than the candle maker’s recommended time, and never more than four hours at a time.
  • Stop burning when ½ inch of wax remains. Extinguish immediately if the flame becomes unusually high, the vessel leaks, or any crack or other damage appears. Do not relight a damaged vessel.
  • Use a candle snuffer to extinguish; never use water. Allow the candle to cool before relighting.
  • After the candle is finished, keep the antique crock for decorative use only; do not use it for food or drink.
