Early 1900s, French or Italian origin
“This is what the well-set table used to demand — a whisper-soft sweep, not just of crumbs, but of ceremony.”
This elegant antique crumb brush is an exquisite example of early 20th-century tableware. The curved wooden handle is finished in a rich burgundy lacquer, hand-painted with florals and birds, and inlaid with shimmering mother-of-pearl mosaic from end to end. Each piece of nacre catches the light like a little gemstone.
Likely made in France or northern Italy around the 1900s–1920s, this piece would have been part of a formal table setting — used to quietly sweep away crumbs between courses. The natural bristles are intact and still very usable, though most collectors display it for its ornate beauty alone.
A special gift or rare decorative piece for the true old-world romantic. Tray not included. This listing is for the brush only.
