We love a substantial copper pan in our Everyday Château, and know you'll love this one in yours. This large vintage saucepan is the remaining piece from a nesting set, with a sturdy iron handle and that wonderful warm copper glow. A lovely find when you want one useful pan rather than an entire collection.
Reach for it for a gently simmering sauce, vegetables for supper, or a little soup for lunch. We love copper that earns its place in the kitchen and looks beautiful hanging within reach between meals.

A little reassurance about dark tin
Tin naturally develops gray and darker tones with time, cooking, and oxidation. Dark color alone does not mean it is unsafe or needs retinning. This pan's lining is intact and ready for use, with the darker appearance of well-loved tin. If bare copper eventually becomes exposed through the cooking surface, have the lining assessed and retinned before further cooking.
Three simple tips for cooking with tin-lined copper
- Add your fat or liquid first. Cover the base with butter, oil, or cooking liquid before turning on the heat. Never heat the pan empty.
- Start low. Copper responds quickly, so use low to medium heat. Avoid high-heat searing and never leave the pan heating unattended.
- Treat the tin gently. Use wooden or silicone utensils. Let the pan cool, then hand-wash with mild soap and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive scrubbers and use a potholder for the hot handle.
