Description
A signed work by French painter Georges Planes (1897–1974), known for his pastoral and alpine landscapes.
This composition captures a shepherd guiding his flock through a mountain valley, with light moving across the peaks and down into the path below. There is a quiet rhythm to the piece—both grounded and alive.
The brushwork is confident and expressive, giving movement to the terrain while maintaining a strong sense of place. A label on the reverse identifies the scene as a valley landscape, reinforcing its origin and subject.
