Description
Bonne Année—a little wish for a beautiful year ahead.
With their French tricolor, vintage-inspired lettering, and softly aged glaze, these little crock candles bring the romance of a brocante into your home. Their story begins beneath the English countryside, where our picker carefully searches and digs for forgotten antique stoneware.
These are archaeological finds, not newly made vessels designed to look old. Every crock has its own shape, surface, and history, carried through years beneath the earth before making its way across the Atlantic to Wisconsin. There, our candle designer gives it a new chapter with a hand-poured candle and newly applied French-inspired artwork.
The Bonne Année transfer is new; the vessel and its timeworn character are antique. Long after the final flicker, the crock remains a little piece of history to keep and display.
Choose your size
- Petite — $48: the smaller candle, shown on the right in the first photograph.
- Moyenne — $59: the larger candle, shown on the left in the first photograph.
- Each candle is sold individually.
Every archaeological crock is different
Size and shape may vary slightly within each size option. Glaze color, rim profile, proportions, crazing, staining, surface texture, and age-related marks will also differ. The photographs show examples of those variations; choosing Petite or Moyenne selects the size category, not an identical reproduction of the photographed vessel. These differences are part of the appeal of a genuine archaeological find.

Candle Care & Fire Safety
- Follow the safety label on the bottom of your candle. Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn and keep wax free of debris.
- Burn within sight. Extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep.
- Keep away from children, pets, drafts, and anything flammable.
- Place upright on a stable, heat-resistant, nonflammable surface. The crock becomes hot; do not move it while lit and allow it to cool completely before handling.
- Follow the maker’s recommended burn time; never burn for more than four hours at a time.
- Stop burning when ½ inch of wax remains. Extinguish if the flame becomes unusually high, wax leaks, or the vessel cracks. Do not relight a damaged vessel.
- Use a candle snuffer; never use water. Allow wax and vessel to cool before relighting.
- After the candle is finished, retain the crock for decorative use only, not food or drink.
